WEEK 5

This week I will watch Macbeth from 1948 that Charles K. Feldman produced for Orson Wells via Republic Picture. I found out that AFI has a catalog which is like the official academic version of what people would normally go to to imdb for. Here is the detailed record on this version of Macbeth in the AFI Catalog: http://www.afi.com/members/catalog/DetailView.aspx?s=&Movie=25626
It is a resource I wish I had known about as a film student undergrad. There is so much detail to the records of which exist here for all Feature length American films ever made!
I’m trying to watch as many of the Charles K. Feldman produced films as I have access to so that I may be inspired for my work in the archives and motivated to discover exciting new conclusions on what relates to what. C.K.F. is related back to 30 titles in the AFI Catalog:

Of those so far I’ve seen
The Strange Affair of Uncle Harry (1945) ,
A Streetcar Named Desire (1952) ,
My favorite is The Big Sleep which he was noted in for convincing the Executive Producer of the film, Jack L. Warner, to change the film by adding and switching up some scenes of the lead actress Lauren Bacall whom he managed I believe. I watched this film in my undergrad and wrote an extensive paper on it.
So excited to continue my work with the Charles K. Feldman collection!
